Like other households with young children, I’m sure our house is no different when I say that I have just completed yet another day where I feel like I was yelling and on my kids about cleaning up, pretty much from the time they got home from school.
You know, the moments where you can feel that beautifully blossoming forehead vein growing ever more purple and you seem to catch yourself and take a deep breath just moments before that beauty explodes and makes yet one more mess that, even though you are bleeding to death on the floor, you will have to clean up.
Sums up my day. I’m sure, in some way though, all that ‘parenting’ has to burn some extra calories, right? Like the tensing of the stomach muscles as you feel as though you really cannot ‘talk’ any louder??? Like the calories it takes your body to actually get all of the much needed blood to reach that vein??? Gotta be a plus in here somewhere.
In the meantime, I’m heading to bed while the house is quiet, and before I decide to eat my way back to a normal blood pressure number.
